Our Mission

At Families With Hope, our mission is to Be the CHANGE by giving hope to disabled children, supporting struggling veterans, and strengthening families in need across Southern California—keeping your donations right here in our community. We also extend our compassion to vulnerable animals by donating blemished towels and blankets not fit for human use to local shelters, turning discarded items into warmth, comfort, and care for animals waiting to be adopted.

What areas of Orange County do you pick up in?

We pick up donations throughout all of Orange County, CA. Your donations stay local in Southern California and support disabled children, struggling veterans, and families in need.

What days and times do you pick up?

We work with your schedule to make pickup simple and convenient. Call or schedule online to choose the best day for you.

Will I receive a reminder?

Yes.
• Email reminder — sent the day before your pickup
• Phone reminder — the morning of pickup
An additional call can be requested if needed.

Do pickups still happen in bad weather?

Yes — our trucks operate rain or shine.

What items do you accept?

We accept most clothing, household items and vehicles.

What condition should items be in?

Please donate items that are clean, gently used, and are in usable condition.

Can drivers assist with large items?

Drivers can help carry small/light items and may use a dolly if needed.
However, drivers cannot enter homes, and items must be placed outside at ground level to prevent property damage.

Do you accept furniture?

Yes. If you have any larger or extra heavy items, please let us know when scheduling.

Do you accept televisions?

Yes. As long as it is in good usable condition.

Where should I leave my donated items?

Place donations outside at ground level, visible from the street at the end of your driveway or porch, in bags/boxes clearly labeled “Donation Pickup.”
Drivers cannot enter homes or private indoor areas.

Do I need to be home during pickup?

No. As long as your items are outside and clearly marked, our driver will pick them up.

Is there a donation limit?

No. But, please specify when scheduling that you have a larger pick up.

Do you pick up in gated communities?

Yes, with arranged access. Please provide:
• A gate code, or
• Notify the guard of our arrival

Do you pick up from apartments?

We pick up at ground level outside the building.
Drivers cannot enter units, secured areas, or go beyond the 2nd floor.
Call for special accommodations — they may be available.

Do you pick up from storage units?

Typically pickup is for residential locations, but exceptions may be possible.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes, as allowed by law.
After pickup, our driver will leave you a signed and dated receipt. You may list items and assign values for your records.
